WORKSHOP MANAGER

Doornkraal Agri is a leading and well-established producer of apples, pears, plums and nectarines, based in the Witzenberg Valley in Ceres. The company has an exciting opportunity available for a Workshop Manager on one of its production units.  The successful incumbent will report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of all buildings, pack houses, pumps, boreholes and implements on the farm
• Construction work as requested by management
• Management of workshop personnel and maintenance team
• Internal training of workshop personnel – technical skills as well as health and safety principles
• Placing orders (workshop related)
• Final decision-maker with regards to job cards
• Ensuring the accuracy of all maintenance and workshop work done
• Preparation and execution of annual maintenance schedule and service planning

Requirements:

• Matric (minimum requirement)
• Relevant technical qualification (Qualified Diesel Mechanic highly advantageous)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good planning and organisational skills
• Computer literate
• Ability to perform well under pressure and in conflict situations
